Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, attended the ‘13th Fisheries Day Commemorative Gyeongnam Fisheries People Unity Festival’ hosted by the Gyeongnam Fisheries Cooperative Association Council at Samjin Sports Ground in Jinbuk-myeon, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon City.

At the event held on the 20th, awards were given to contributors to marine and fisheries development, a resolution was read for the prevention of safety accidents, and a vision proclamation ceremony was held, along with sports events and various cultural activities to promote unity among fisheries people.

Mayor Hong said, “I deeply empathize with the difficulties currently facing the fisheries industry, and above all, the unity of fisheries people is most important. Recently, safety accidents have been frequent, so I urge everyone to pay close attention to safety during operations and to take special care in accident prevention. I hope today will be a time to put down the burdens of daily life and pledge for tomorrow’s development,” encouraging the fishermen.
