Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will officially operate the mobile library "Library Damas" from the 19th until October.

Library Damas is a mobile bookstore that loads books onto a small cargo truck to lend and receive returns from residents. It was established to provide various reading experiences to residents and to promote the spread of reading culture and the expansion of the reading population.

The project will be carried out every first and third Friday of the month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Junggok-dong Health and Welfare Administration Town Plaza. The mobile library will also be operated frequently at local events and festivals. It offers a unique experience to enjoy around 300 bestsellers and steady sellers while feeling the cool outdoor breeze.

Additionally, the mobile library provides a series of book-related services at once, including ▲book reading and lending services for members ▲curated book selections by librarians based on themes ▲book recommendations and reading consultation services.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "I hope this project will be an opportunity for everyone to fully enjoy the pleasure of reading and become closer to books. We ask for the residents’ great interest and participation," and added, "We will continue to do our best to spread a culture of reading through various projects."

Besides this, the district is steadily working to revitalize outdoor libraries through initiatives such as the Achasan Forest Outdoor Library, Reading Club Festival, and operation of children's outdoor playgrounds.
