Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is launching a specialized project contest worth 60 million KRW to discover ideas for revitalizing commercial districts that reflect the unique characteristics of the area.
Eligibility for application includes commercial district organizations located in Gwangjin-gu or groups of three or more small business owners. This year, the scope has been expanded to allow not only merchant organizations but also small business owners to participate.
The contest content involves proposing projects for commercial district revitalization such as brand discovery, local product development, promotion, and marketing. About five projects will be selected from the applications and supported with 6 million to 20 million KRW. However, a 10% self-funding requirement is mandatory, and certain industries such as traditional markets, finance, and real estate are restricted.
Those wishing to participate should submit the project plan and required documents to the Gwangjin-gu Office Regional Economy Division by the 26th. The selection results will be announced in May after internal review.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We launched this contest to gather diverse and innovative ideas to help revitalize local commercial districts,” adding, “We will actively communicate with merchants, the mainstay of the local economy, and strive to promptly implement necessary policies.”
