On the 17th, the Army Capital Corps conducted a large-scale artillery firing exercise at the artillery firing range located in Munhye-ri, Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, the Army Headquarters announced. This exercise, carried out to establish a response posture against enemy fire provocations and to enhance the capability to perform counter-fire missions, involved over 430 soldiers from the Army's 17th Division, Capital Artillery Brigade, and Marine Corps 2nd Division, with 30 K9 and K55A1 self-propelled howitzers deployed. The exercise was conducted in a manner where the Capital Corps' counter-battery detection radar (TPQ74K) detects enemy fire provocations, the command post targets the point of provocation, and then issues firing orders to the artillery units through the command and control (C4I) system.
