Changwon Special City Hosts 'Veranda Concert' to Enjoy High-Quality Choir Performance

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a ‘Veranda Concert’ at the special stage on the lawn plaza of Yongji I-Park Apartment, allowing citizens to enjoy high-quality choral performances without visiting the concert hall.

On the afternoon of the 16th, under the direction of Artistic Director Gong Ki-tae of the Changwon City Choir, a beautiful and diverse selection of songs such as ‘Like Spring Coming Across the River’, ‘Cannot Forget’, ‘Alone Arirang’, ‘Leaning on Time’, ‘As You Live’, ‘Girl’, and ‘Hero’ were performed. As a special stage, a Taepyeongso performance of ‘Han Obaeknyeon’ was presented, further elevating the atmosphere.

The Changwon City Choir’s planned Veranda Concert has been offered since 2020 as a unique outdoor stage where citizens can enjoy Korean choral and popular music not only from the audience seats but also from their home verandas, receiving great acclaim.

Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, who attended the event, said, “I hope this Veranda Concert provided a precious time to deliver healing and messages of hope through music amid busy daily life. We will continue to make efforts so that citizens can enjoy culture and arts in their closest everyday surroundings.”
