Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 16th that its recent Latin American market development delegation achieved consultation results worth 11 million USD (approximately 15.377 billion KRW) locally.
The market development delegation, jointly promoted by the city and the Hwaseong Export Support Center, included nine companies from the area and held export consultation meetings in two countries, Colombia and Peru, from the 7th to the 13th.

Participating companies conducted a total of 113 consultations through the export meetings, achieving consultation results worth 11 million USD. In particular, Company A signed an on-site contract worth 20,000 USD with a Colombian buyer, and Company B succeeded in selling sample products worth 1,000 USD to a Peruvian buyer, the city explained.
Song Ki-chang, CEO of Geumjeong Co., Ltd., who participated in the market development delegation, said, "The Latin American market felt unfamiliar and difficult, but after experiencing it firsthand, I realized there are many opportunities."
Starting with Latin America, the city and the center plan to dispatch market development delegations to Russia, Vietnam, and the Middle East. The city will also collaborate with KOTRA, the Small and Medium Business Corporation, and the Gyeonggi FTA Trade Promotion Center to support small and medium enterprises in developing overseas markets.
Yoon Soon-seok, head of the Hwaseong City Corporate Support Division, stated, "We will actively support small and medium enterprises in pioneering markets that are difficult to enter independently through the market development delegation."
