A company specializing in rare disease treatments and blood products prepared an event for hemophilia patients.

SK Plasma announced on the 16th that it held a blood donation campaign involving members of SK Discovery affiliates on the 17th, in observance of World Hemophilia Day.

Hemophilia is a bleeding disorder caused by a deficiency of clotting factors in the blood, occurring as a rare disease in about one in 10,000 people. The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) established April 17th as "World Hemophilia Day" in 1989 to raise awareness of hemophilia and bleeding disorders. This year's slogan is "Equitable access for all: recognizing all bleeding disorders," emphasizing the effort to create a world where everyone with bleeding disorders can receive treatment.

The blood donation campaign was conducted by employees participating directly through blood donation vehicles at SK Plasma located in Pangyo, as well as at SK Discovery, SK Chemicals, SK Gas, SK Bioscience, SK D&D, and factories of various affiliates in Ulsan, Andong, Cheongju, and Pyeongtaek.

SK Plasma, which sells hemophilia treatment Appstilra and essential medicines such as albumin and other blood products, plans to provide participants in the blood donation campaign with tumblers along with the usual blood donation souvenirs. In January, Kim Seung-joo, CEO of SK Plasma, promised to provide tumblers to participants in this year’s blood donation campaign as part of the "Zero Single-Use Items Challenge" to promote environmental protection.

Additionally, starting on the 17th, SK Plasma will post a banner on its website to commemorate World Hemophilia Day and will collect and deliver blood donation certificates along with messages of support for hemophilia patients.

CEO Kim Seung-joo stated, "We will continue to hold regular blood donation campaigns to raise social awareness of rare diseases and strive to improve the quality of life for patients. We plan to actively practice ESG management by joining forces with our members to solve various social issues we face."
