From April 12 to 26, applications were accepted from SMEs and small business owners wishing to participate, with a total of 1,139 companies applying (956 through open recruitment and 183 through recommendations).
This year, a recommendation-based selection method was introduced for the first time. Recommendations were received from organizations with close contact to businesses and the field, such as regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administrations and the Small Enterprise and Market Service, as well as various networks including the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, the Venture Business Association, and private distribution companies.
The competition rate for open recruitment increased by about 1.8 times compared to last year’s May Donghaeng Festival, which is interpreted as an improvement in the festival’s recognition.
Through eligibility evaluations by private experts on market and product competitiveness, price appropriateness, and value, 300 SMEs and small business owners with excellent products were finally selected. This allows attendees to encounter food and snack items such as Baeknyeon Gage products, health juices, and Tteokbokki, as well as innovative product groups like eye mist devices, paper drones, and eco-friendly toothbrushes.
Selected companies will receive various sales channel support and promotional benefits, including special online exhibitions through major platforms and distribution channels, live commerce, offline sales promotions linked to local festivals, and publicity using both online and offline media.
Detailed information about the selected products will be available on the Donghaeng Festival website starting from the 30th.
