On the 14th, at the 2024 season Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour opening event, the DB Insurance Promy Open (total prize money 700 million KRW) held at La Vie Belle Country Club Old Course (par 71, 7,181 yards) in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, Yoon shot a 7-under-par 64 in the final 4th round to claim a come-from-behind victory (18-under-par 266). Having joined the regular tour in 2019, he reached the top for the first time in his career at his 77th tournament. The winner's prize money was 140 million KRW.
Starting from a tie for 2nd place, one stroke behind the leader, Yoon collected 7 birdies without a single bogey. He took the lead with three consecutive birdies on holes 1 to 3, then extended his lead by adding two more birdies on holes 6 and 9. In the back nine, he celebrated his victory by securing 'stepping stone birdies' on holes 13 and 15. His course record of 61 (10-under-par) on the first day was the driving force behind his win. His best previous result was runner-up at the 2018 Huons Celebrity Pro-Am, where he participated as a recommended player. During the winter training camp, he perfectly improved his short game, which had been lacking, and made an impact from the opening event this year.
Park Sang-hyun, the 'money king' and leader from the previous day, recorded 4 birdies and 2 bogeys. Finishing at 2-under-par, he settled for second place (14-under-par 270). He missed the chance to secure his 13th KPGA Tour victory. Lee Jung-hwan moved up to 3rd place (13-under-par 271) by shooting 6 under. Jang Yoo-bin finished 4th (12-under-par 272), Kim Bi-o and Bae Yong-jun tied for 5th (11-under-par 273), and Heo In-hoe and Lee Hyung-jun tied for 7th (10-under-par 274). Defending champion Ko Gun-taek remained tied for 24th place (7-under-par 277).
