Following his defeat in the April 10 general election where he ran in Seoul Guro-eul, Tae Young-ho, a member of the People Power Party, made headlines by visiting the winning candidate, Yoon Gun-young of the Democratic Party, with a bouquet to offer his congratulations.
On the 11th, Yoon posted on Facebook under the title "An Unexpected Guest." He explained that after thanking residents at Sindorim Station on his way to work that day and entering his office to make congratulatory calls, he was pondering who to call first. Yoon said, "After much thought, I thought of Tae. Above all else, I felt I should call Tae to offer my condolences first."

He added, "I felt it was proper for me to go to him first, but Tae insisted, saying 'I will come now,' and showed up." Along with this, Yoon shared a photo of the bouquet Tae brought. He described Tae as "an unexpected guest carrying a large bouquet" and expressed his sincere gratitude.
Yoon also stated, "Even if the ruling and opposition parties clash and conflict, I always believe it is right to unite on local issues." He added, "Healthy opposition and debate in central politics advance politics, but local issues cannot be divided along party lines. I will strive to practice such politics." He concluded by saying, "Soon, I will visit Tae with a small gift as a 'guest' and a colleague to cooperate on local issues."
Netizens who saw this post commented with support and encouragement, saying things like, "Yoon Gun-young and Tae Young-ho are ideologically polar opposites, but this is truly a wonderful scene," "Applause," "This is dignified politics," and "Well done. The world needs consideration."
According to the results of the Seoul Guro-eul National Assembly election held on the 10th, Yoon won with 57,788 votes, securing 59.86% of the vote.
