"Please consider transferring the authority to review local industrial complexes so that Yongin can establish an excellent semiconductor ecosystem." Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, met with Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon to request the transfer of the province's authority to review local industrial complexes to the special city.
On the morning of the 12th, Mayor Lee met with Governor Kim at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government office to request the province's support in resolving key issues such as the transfer of review authority for local industrial complexes and handed over related materials.

This request from Mayor Lee aims to expedite the large-scale projects such as the 'Advanced System Semiconductor National Industrial Complex' being established in the Cheoin-gu Ildong and Namsa-eup areas, and the 690,000-pyeong 'Ildong Public Housing District' being developed as a semiconductor hinterland new town in the Ildong-eup area. Mayor Lee's position is that the authority to review Gyeonggi Province's local industrial complex plans should be transferred to Yongin, the approval authority, so that companies wishing to settle around the national industrial complex can do so without disruption.
At the meeting, Mayor Lee stated, "The Gyeonggi Province's review of the Giheung Future City Advanced Industrial Complex and Jukneung General Industrial Complex has been delayed, causing setbacks in various projects aimed at strengthening semiconductor competitiveness," and requested, "Please consider transferring the review authority so that Yongin, as the approval authority, can review responsibly."
Mayor Lee also mentioned, "We have requested Gyeonggi Province to expand and newly construct four routes and nine sections, including Local Road No. 321, which connects to the semiconductor national industrial complex," adding, "Please actively consider accepting the city's road network expansion plan to resolve the habitual congestion on roads connecting semiconductor hubs."
In addition, Mayor Lee sought Gyeonggi Province's cooperation on other major city issues such as ▲relocation of transmission towers in the Gwanggyo housing district ▲reconstruction of Gogi Bridge ▲designation of urban regeneration project zones in the Guseong and Mabuk areas.
