Four men in their 30s were arrested by the police for consuming jelly containing cannabis ingredients.
According to the Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul on the 12th, the group, who are university classmates, are suspected of consuming cannabis jelly given by Mr. A at a restaurant in Gwangjin-gu around 8 p.m. the previous day, violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Mr. A reportedly handed the jelly to the other three, saying it would "make them feel good." Two of them, experiencing dizziness, called 119, and firefighters who arrived at the scene requested police intervention.
The police conducted a rapid drug test on Mr. A and another individual who were not transported to the hospital, both of whom tested positive for cannabis. The remaining two also showed positive results, leading the police to take them in for questioning.
The police are investigating the circumstances under which Mr. A obtained the cannabis jelly and whether the rest of the group was aware of its contents before consuming it, along with other specific details of the case.
