Chairman Gongjeongpyo said, "The average garlic price at the Gyeongnam local wholesale market in 2023 was 3,130 KRW per kilogram based on commercial (net) garlic, a 41% decrease compared to 2022, causing many difficulties for farmers. However, I hope this year will be a year to ease worries with good price formation," and added, "The Garlic Gyeongnam Council will take the lead in doing its best to stabilize garlic supply and prices."

Director Cho Geunsu said, "Due to frequent recent rains, pest and disease outbreaks are expected, so I urge thorough pest control. We will do our best to develop the garlic business that helps farmers by deciding appropriate purchase prices, adjusting shipments, and expanding agricultural product distribution channels."
