Sangha Farm, an agricultural and fishing village experience-themed park in Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, a subsidiary of Maeil Dairies, announced on the 12th that it will operate child-friendly events in May to celebrate Family Month.
The "8th Sangha Farm Family Month Festival, Gather! Nature Playground," held in celebration of Children's Day in May, features various programs over three days from May 4 to 6. First, there is a "Peanut Planting" experience that allows participants to engage in the primary industry, the first sector of the 6th industry. Through education about various insects/beneficial insects living in the famous mineral-rich Gochang yellow soil and peanuts, it provides a positive experience of rural life.
Additionally, a limited-time "Workshop Guide Tour" is prepared during the event period, allowing visitors to directly see and feel the 6th industry in action. Unlike the existing workshop guide tours, this tour offers the opportunity to taste various products produced in the workshops.
Various participatory events to fully enjoy Sangha Farm have also been prepared. These include a "Family Sports Day" for families to participate together, a "Family Look Contest" where families can show off their special couple outfits, play janggi (Korean chess), and receive gifts, and a stamp mission sheet where children can find and stamp various animals, plants, and insects in the nature of Sangha Farm, making the Children's Week rich and fulfilling.
The "8th Sangha Farm Spring Children's Drawing Contest" is a drawing competition that has been continuously held since the opening of Sangha Farm. It operates as a creative contest where participants express their drawings using natural materials. Held every May during Family Month as a cultural experience for families, this year's contest will take place on weekends throughout May, including the Children's Day event period.
Under the theme "I am a Happy Little Farmer in Nature," participants express their day spent at Sangha Farm, surrounded by nature and animals, using natural materials from the surroundings.
This year marks the 8th drawing contest, which aims to establish itself as a representative creative activity in the region. Professional judges from the local area will be invited to select winners through a more specialized evaluation. The announcement of winners is scheduled for June.
A representative of Sangha Farm said, "To celebrate Children's Day and Family Month, we have prepared experiences and events that the whole family can enjoy together. We will continue to expand various programs to enhance understanding of the 6th industry by allowing children to experience healthy food from farmers at their eye level."
