On the 11th, SM Entertainment announced the lawsuit related to malicious comments against BoA through the notice of its reporting center ‘Gwangya 119,’ established to protect the rights of its artists, stating, "There will be no leniency or settlement."

The agency added, "Currently, false information dissemination, malicious personal attacks, insults, and slanders against the artist are continuously occurring mainly on various social networking services (SNS), video sharing platforms, and online communities. Therefore, we are conducting large-scale lawsuits domestically and internationally in cooperation with Sejong Law Firm, which is responsible for legal responses related to infringement of our artists' rights, as well as additional external legal advisory institutions."

They also explained, "Since the previous notice, we have already collected sufficient data on numerous posts and are conducting investigations and lawsuits on specific cases such as cyber reckas. We plan to hold legal responsibility to the end through continuous information gathering."

SM stated, "The situation has reached a level so severe that it is difficult for one person to handle, and the artist is going through a very difficult time experiencing great mental distress. We intend to legally punish the perpetrators without leniency or settlement, and we hope everyone understands that any malicious posts made even at this moment can be subject to punishment."

BoA appeared as Oh Yura in tvN’s 'Marry Me Now,' which ended in February, and has since been bombarded with malicious comments, including criticisms of her appearance, causing her to express her distress. On the 29th, she appealed to the malicious commenters, saying, "If I don’t manage it, you say I don’t care; if I do, you say I’m doing it too much. When I gain weight because you say I’ve lost too much, you say I look like a pig. I don’t know your faces, but don’t waste your life like that. Sorry, but I am BoA."

On the 7th, she also posted, "My contract is until December 31, 2025! Until then, I will do my best as the happy singer BoA! Don’t worry. My beloved Jumping (BoA fandom name)," which sparked concerns among fans as it hinted at retirement.
