The Korea Communications Commission announced on the 11th that it has prepared a revision to the Enforcement Decree of the Information and Communications Network Act to enable the stable operation of public convenience services using linked information online.
The revision defines the scope of services capable of batch conversion of linked information as mobile electronic notifications such as health checkup reports and financial MyData services like financial asset verification, allowing these services, which were previously temporarily permitted, to be provided stably.
Linked information refers to an encrypted value of the resident registration number, used for online user identification and linking online and offline services.
Additionally, specific measures and safety obligations were stipulated to ensure the security of identity verification agencies that convert resident registration numbers into linked information and the linked information-utilizing agencies that receive this information.
