He continued, "I hope the prosecution immediately investigates Mrs. Kim and decides whether to indict her," adding, "If Mrs. Kim is innocent, shouldn't her grievances be cleared so that she does not avoid the eyes of the public and the media?"
Representative Jo also urged a swift investigation into the allegations of Mrs. Kim receiving luxury bags. He said, "The entire nation saw the scene of Mrs. Kim receiving luxury bags through publicly released videos," and asked, "Does the prosecution find the Presidential Office's explanation of a 'hidden camera conspiracy' convincing?"
He then emphasized, "Summon Mrs. Kim and investigate why she received the luxury bags, where those bags are, and what was promised in return," adding, "Only by investigating whether the so-called Kim Young-ran Act (Act on the Prohibition of Improper Solicitation and Graft) was violated can the prosecution become a representative of the public interest rather than a protector of the regime."
Representative Jo stated that if the prosecution does not proceed with summoning and investigating Mrs. Kim, they will work with the Democratic Party of Korea to push for a comprehensive special prosecution law concerning Mrs. Kim. He also revealed that this special prosecution law would include allegations of preferential treatment related to the route change of the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway involving Mrs. Kim's family.
In response to reporters' questions about "What will you do if President Yoon Seok-yeol exercises his right to request reconsideration (veto)?", he replied, "If the president is aware of and accepts the public sentiment confirmed in the general election, he would not dare to exercise the veto right."
