On the 11th, Chungnam Province held a ceremony to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea.
About 250 people attended the ceremony, including Governor Kim Tae-heum, Kim Eung-gyu, Chairman of the Welfare and Environment Committee of the Chungnam Provincial Council, Superintendent of Education Kim Ji-cheol, Seo Jeong-mi, Head of the Western Veterans Affairs Office, and Kim Wan-tae, Head of the Chungnam Branch of the Liberation Association.
At the ceremony, the theater group 'Yechon' performed a play highlighting the achievements and role of independence activist Lee Dong-nyeong, who was from Cheonan, drawing the attention of the attendees.
Governor Kim said, "105 years ago, the Provisional Government established the name of the Republic of Korea and the framework of a democratic republic, becoming the great root of today's Republic of Korea, which led the great history of independence and nation-building. I bow my head in respect to the patriotic ancestors who devoted everything for the country and the nation."
He added, "Chungnam will inherit the spirit of the ancestors and open the future of the Republic of Korea. Through thorough veterans' affairs and respect for national merit recipients, we will never forget the sacrifice and dedication to the country and the nation."
