Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Hee-su) will hold the "1st Bobae Island Canola Flower Village Festival" for three days from the 12th to the 14th.

According to the county on the 11th, a large canola flower field of about 75,000 pyeong, including Gwanmaedo in Jodo-myeon, has been created along with ten canola flower sites in villages such as the county industrial complex, Songgun Samgeori, Gweseong Village, and Namdojinseong.

After enduring a long winter and unusually frequent spring rains, the canola flowers have fully bloomed, turning the entire area including Gwanmaedo in Jodo into waves of yellow.

For residents and tourists visiting various festival sites, a stamp rally is prepared where visitors receive Jindo specialties by visiting and collecting stamps at four or more locations. There are also various enjoyable activities and experiences for the whole family, such as horseback riding, face painting, and treasure hunting.

On the first day of the event, the 12th, an on-site drawing and writing contest for elementary school students themed around canola flowers and Jindo will be held. On the second day, the 13th, a bicycle race by course and a family health walking festival following the canola flower fields will take place.

Additionally, the women’s associations of the event sites including the county industrial complex, Songgun Samgeori, Yeonju Village, Gweseong Village, and Gwanmaedo will operate traditional taverns selling affordable and delicious foods such as canola flower fritters, pajeon (green onion pancakes), and Makgeolli.
