Sacheon-si Holds '2024 Resident Participation Budget Operation Committee' Meeting

Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 11th that it held the ‘2024 Sacheon City Resident Participatory Budget Operation Committee’ at the Deputy Mayor’s Office in City Hall to enhance the efficiency and transparency of local financial management.

The operation committee, chaired by Deputy Mayor Kim Seong-gyu, discussed the 2024 Resident Participatory Budget Operation Plan (draft) for the 2025 budget formulation and deliberated and resolved the annual operation plan.

In addition, the committee conducted the overall meeting, communication sessions, and reviewed agenda items related to the Resident Participatory Budget proposal project recruitment plan and the operation committee.

The Resident Participatory Budget system is a system that guarantees citizen participation in the budget formulation process and increases budget transparency.

The city plans to recruit proposals for the Resident Participatory Budget projects from April 29 to June 7, and any Sacheon citizen can participate through the city website or by visiting in person.

Submitted proposals will be reviewed by the relevant departments and the Resident Participatory Budget organization meetings before final selection, and will be included in next year’s budget.

Chairman Kim Seong-gyu said, “Since the Resident Participatory Budget system is a system that allows residents to consider local issues on their own, we ask for active participation from residents so that many projects closely related to residents’ lives can be discovered.”
