Utilizing 'Geographical Survey' for On-Site Dispatch and Firefighting Activities

The Jeonnam Provincial Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) announced on the 11th that they inspected the forest road facilities in Yeonggwang-gun to prevent forest fires.


According to the Yeonggwang Fire Station, on the 9th, Chief Hong Young-geun, Yeonggwang Fire Station Chief Lee Gwan-seop, and 16 fire officials examined the forest road facilities. Forest roads are roads installed for the transportation of forest products and forest management.

The fire authorities conduct geographical surveys to ensure rapid on-site response and firefighting activities in case of forest fires or mountain accidents during winter, and utilize the survey results for field operations.


During the visit, they conducted ▲ a briefing on the status of forest roads within Yeonggwang-gun ▲ identification of obstacles to forest road access and fire vehicle entry ▲ inspection of accident risk factors such as forest road damage ▲ and urged the establishment of a rapid response system in case of forest fires.


Chief Hong Young-geun stated, "With the arrival of spring, the incidence of forest fires and mountain accidents is expected to be high, so we conducted an on-site inspection," adding, "We will do our best to establish preventive activities and response systems for the safety of the residents."
