Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) China Representative Office participated in the '11th PORTECH ASIA' held in Shanghai on the 10th and promoted the automation and digitalization achievements of Busan Port.
PORTECH ASIA is a global port technology forum hosted by the Shanghai International Shipping Center and Shanghai Port Association, organized by the China Port Association and the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission.
The event was attended by major port-related organizations in China such as the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), Tianjin Port Group, as well as major overseas ports and global terminal operators from Thailand, Poland, Belgium, and others.
BPA introduced advanced port facilities including the main features, facilities, and equipment status of the country's first fully automated terminal, which opened last week, to key port stakeholders.
They also explained the background and achievements of the introduction of the Chain Portal, a real-time information sharing platform among port stakeholders, including the truck reservation system, transshipment transportation system, integrated information inquiry system, and electronic slip (e-slip) for cargo receipt and delivery.
Hwang In-jung, head of BPA China Representative Office, said, "We will actively promote Korea's transshipment competitiveness and comparative advantages through various methods by showcasing the automation and digitalization of Busan Port."
