Distribution of Masks Promoting Visiting Welfare Services in Manho-dong, Mokpo City

Guidelines for Support Such as Prompt Contact Phone Numbers in Case of Emergency Situations

The Manho-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Mokpo City is strengthening its outreach health and welfare services and the neighborhood welfare task force project, working hard to identify households in crisis.

According to the city on the 11th, Manho-dong is making efforts to build a meticulous welfare system by having the welfare task force visit homes every month to check on low-income elderly living alone and households in welfare blind spots, listening to their difficulties.

In particular, to quickly contact elderly living alone households in case of emergencies, promotional stickers were produced and attached to necessary homes through welfare account holders.

Also, starting from the 1st, masks with emergency contact information and a sticker saying "We will be your strength in difficult times" are being distributed to seniors visiting the Administrative Welfare Center to receive senior haircut and beauty coupons.

The masks for distribution were prepared with a donation of 3 boxes (960 masks) from ‘Joahong (Representative Jeong Taeyeon)’, a sharing house in Manho-dong, requesting that they be used for promoting the discovery of vulnerable households. This is becoming a heartwarming example of public-private cooperation in discovering and supporting welfare blind spots.

Kim Gwangmi, head of Manho-dong, said, “Although we visit households in need through welfare account holders and check for deficiencies in each home, we will do our best to make this a warm neighborhood where residents can comfortably seek help in emergencies.”
