Hwaseong-si to Officially Operate Three Cargo Truck Parking Lots Starting May

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that the public parking lots for freight trucks in Hyangnam, Dongtan, and Dongtan Jungdong, which are currently being operated on a trial basis, will be officially opened from the 1st of next month.

The public parking lots subject to operation are ▲Hyangnam (Jangjim-ri San 34) ▲Dongtan (Seokwoo-dong 590-26) ▲Dongtan Jungdong (Jungdong 370-1).

The total area of the three public parking lots is approximately 56,007㎡. They include a total of 417 parking spaces: 29 extra-large, 368 large, and 20 medium-sized spaces, along with a management office and restrooms for users.

The newly established freight truck parking lots aim to resolve parking difficulties and illegal overnight parking issues for freight trucks. The city completed construction last November and has been operating them on a trial basis. During the trial operation period, the city expanded 18 large parking spaces in response to user demands.

The parking lots are operated by Hwaseong Urban Corporation, which is currently recruiting official users through its website. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Parking Operation Division 2 of Hwaseong Urban Corporation.

To ensure fairness among users and sound budget management, the city decided to charge fees only for the actual parking area used and to include the issuance fee for usage certificates in the parking fees.

Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, urged, "We hope citizens take a keen interest and use the facilities to prevent safety accidents caused by illegal overnight parking and to establish an advanced traffic culture."
