Democratic Party's Lee Jae-gwan Enters Yeouido for the First Time... "Will Lead National Balanced Development"

Lee Jae-gwan, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate who challenged the constituency of Cheonan, Chungnam, succeeded in entering Yeouido for the first time.

He secured 58,862 votes, confirming his victory with a margin of 14,234 votes over Lee Jeong-man of the People Power Party.

Lee ran as a candidate for mayor of Cheonan in the 2022 local elections but was defeated. This time, as a recruited talent of the Democratic Party in the general election, he experienced the joy of winning.

Lee stated, "Drawing on my experience as a public official who has worked closely with the people for over 30 years, I will devote all my efforts to the development of Cheonan and balanced national development," adding, "As a local administration expert, I will take the lead in completing local autonomy to solve the crisis of local extinction and regional imbalance, and in achieving balanced national development to enhance the country's future competitiveness."
