Democratic Party candidate Kim Jeong-ho defeated Jo Hae-jin, who was strategically nominated by the People Power Party, to become the National Assembly member for the Gimhae-eul constituency in Gyeongnam.

According to the Central Election Commission, in the 22nd general election held on the 10th, Kim secured his victory around 1 a.m. on the 11th after a close race that extended past midnight, entering the ranks of a three-term veteran lawmaker.
