People Power Party's Lee Jong-wook Wins Changwon Jinhae District After Close Race Past Midnight

Lee Jong-wook, the candidate from the People Power Party, was elected as the National Assembly member for the Changwon Jinhae constituency in Gyeongnam after a close race.

According to the National Election Commission, candidate Yoon defeated Hwang Ki-cheol of the Democratic Party of Korea in the 22nd general election held on the 10th, becoming the National Assembly member for Jinhae-gu, Changwon City.

Even with over 90% of the votes counted, the two candidates were in a tight competition, and the winner was decided at 1:44 PM on the 11th with 99.67% of the votes tallied.

As of the same time, the vote percentages were 50.29% for candidate Yoon and 49.70% for candidate Hwang, with a difference of 590 votes between them.
