Moon Geum-ju, the Democratic Party candidate who ran for the 22nd National Assembly election in the Goheung·Boseong·Jangheung·Gangjin district, was elected.
As of 10 PM on the 10th, the vote count for the 22nd National Assembly general election in Goheung·Boseong·Jangheung·Gangjin was 89.91%, with Moon receiving 85,830 votes, winning with 90.09% of the vote, ahead of the second-place candidate Kim Hyung-joo of the People Power Party, who received 8,587 votes.

Moon said, "The great residents have shown their desire to judge the incompetent and immoral Yoon Seok-yeol administration through the general election results," adding, "I will engrave that will in my heart and take the lead in judging the Yoon Seok-yeol administration that has neglected people's livelihoods and in launching the 4th democratic government."
He continued, "I promise to become a National Assembly member who breathes and communicates with local residents, creating a sustainable farming environment so that farmers and fishermen can lead stable lives, and promoting balanced development through local decentralization."
Moon Geum-ju, originally from Boseong, graduated from Gwangju Seoseok High School, earned a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Chosun University, completed graduate studies at Chonnam National University Graduate School of Public Administration, and obtained a master's degree from Michigan State University. He passed the 38th Administrative Examination and has served as Gwangju City Policy Planning Officer, Vice Governor and Director of Planning and Coordination Office of Jeonnam Province, and Public Service Policy Officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
