The final voter turnout for the 22nd National Assembly election in the Daejeon and Chungnam regions recorded the highest rate among general elections held in the past 30 years.


According to the National Election Commission on the 10th, in the Daejeon area, 819,873 out of 1,236,801 eligible voters cast their ballots, resulting in a turnout rate of 66.3%. This is 0.8% higher than the turnout rate of 65.5% in the 21st National Assembly election.


This turnout rate is the highest since the 14th National Assembly election held in 1992.


By district, the turnout rates were △Dong-gu 64.4%, △Jung-gu 66.6%, △Seo-gu 65.2%, △Yuseong-gu 69.1%, and △Daedeok-gu 65.5%.


The historical voter turnout rates in Daejeon for general elections were △14th 70.1%, △15th 63.0%, △16th 53.3%, △17th 58.9%, △18th 45.3%, △19th 54.2%, △20th 58.6%, and △21st 65.5%.


In the Chungnam region, the turnout rate recorded the highest since the 15th National Assembly election held in 1996.


Out of 1,825,472 eligible voters, 1,185,939 voted, resulting in a turnout rate of 65.0%. This is 2.6% higher than the 62.4% turnout in the 21st general election.


By area, Cheongyang-gun had the highest turnout at 73.2%, while Cheonan Seobuk-gu had the lowest at 59.3%.


The historical voter turnout rates in Chungnam for general elections were △15th 68.7%, △16th 60.1%, △17th 56.0%, △18th 48.2%, △19th 52.4%, △20th 55.5%, and △21st 62.4%.
