The three companies split from Dongkuk Steel Group (Dongkuk Holdings, Dongkuk Steel, Dongkuk CM) designated June 1st as ‘Dongkuk Steel Group Compliance Day’ instead of ‘Fair Trade Day’ and conducted a 9-day campaign to raise compliance awareness among employees.

As Dongkuk Steel Group’s first campaign related to compliance, it organized engaging programs to encourage employee participation, including ▲compliance quizzes ▲creating compliance slogans ▲distributing compliance guidelines.

The compliance guideline booklet of Dongkuk Steel Group contains key summaries and behavioral guidelines on the Fair Trade Act and Subcontracting Act, which employees in sales, purchasing, and management departments might find confusing during daily work. The booklet was produced in a pocketbook size that can be enclosed in work planners to increase usability.

In particular, Dongkuk Steel Group applied an employee contest method for selecting compliance slogans, providing an opportunity for employees to reflect on compliance themselves.

A total of 139 employees from group companies participated in the contest, submitting 142 slogans. Based on employee preferences, Dongkuk Holdings adopted ‘When compliance becomes a habit, a healthy future begins,’ Dongkuk Steel chose ‘Compliance is engraved in Dongkuk’s DNA,’ and Dongkuk CM selected ‘Compliance, our promise as strong as steel!’ as the official compliance slogans for each company.

Dongkuk Steel Group plans to enhance employee compliance awareness through periodic compliance campaigns and expand an internal culture of voluntary compliance. The three companies split from Dongkuk Steel Group aim to achieve an ‘AA’ rating in the CP grade evaluation by 2028.

Since 2011, Dongkuk Steel Group has been operating the ‘DK Compliance Program’ to establish fair trade order and compliance management. It has designated the eight requirements defined by the Fair Trade Commission’s regulations as the core eight elements to be implemented and formed a compliance management organization under the autonomous compliance office to encourage activities.
