This agreement was established to enhance health management and welfare services for citizens by discovering and supporting young and middle-aged adults in need of daily care through organic cooperation between Pohang City and local general hospitals.
With medical institutions contributing to the identification of young and middle-aged adults requiring daily care through this agreement, it is expected to solve the problem of patients who remain hospitalized long-term due to lack of family care after discharge and help eliminate welfare blind spots in the region through linkage with medical welfare services.
Mayor Lee Kang-deok stated, “The daily care service project expands the existing care service areas focused on infants and the elderly to include young and middle-aged adults, thereby strengthening the basic framework of community-integrated care.” He added, “Through this collaboration, we will support young and middle-aged adults in need of care and make every effort to establish a Pohang-style integrated care system.”
The daily care service project provides integrated services such as home care, housekeeping, meal management, and psychological support to young and middle-aged adults and family caregivers who need daily care. Applications can be made at the administrative welfare centers in the applicant’s town, township, or neighborhood.
