LG Electronics' donation will be used for a mental health campaign for college athletes supported by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). With this donation, NCAA-affiliated college athletes will be able to identify early signs of mental illness and receive necessary support such as mental health counseling programs.

Unlike professional athletes who can focus solely on sports, college athletes must balance both sports and academics, making stress management related to performance pressure especially important.

LG Electronics also established the 'Life's Good Coaches Award' to honor sports coaches who work to support athletes' mental health. Two coaches will be selected and announced in the second half of this year.

The selected coaches will receive grants to be used for their schools' mental health programs as well as LG Electronics products.

LG Electronics will also produce a podcast to raise awareness about college athletes' mental health. The podcast will invite mental health experts, college athletes, and coaching staff to provide diverse information and share opinions on mental health.

Vice President Jung Kyu-hwang said, "This is to sincerely convey LG Electronics' brand philosophy 'Life's Good,' which means 'maintain an optimistic attitude and continue bold challenges,' by raising awareness about mental health and supporting athletes." He added, "We hope this will help young athletes with potential build successful sports careers based on healthy minds."

The NCAA is an organization established to support college sports in the United States. More than 1,100 colleges and over 500,000 athletes are affiliated. The college basketball final is so famous that about 17 million people nationwide watch it. It is also called 'March Madness.' LG Electronics has been an 'official corporate partner' of the NCAA since 2021 through a sponsorship agreement.
