The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and KOTRA announced on the 7th that they will hold a webinar on the 9th under the theme of 'Export Logistics Measures Utilizing China-Europe Freight Trains.' This webinar was organized to provide the latest information on China-Europe freight trains, a means of transporting cargo to Europe, to Korean companies amid the ongoing instability in maritime logistics.
Currently, major domestic and international shipping companies have suspended operations in the Red Sea since mid-December last year due to attacks on civilian vessels by the Houthi rebels, rerouting ships around the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. Although the recent rise in maritime freight rates has slowed, global maritime transport remains challenging, leading to continued demand from companies seeking to secure various logistics options.
This webinar will closely examine the Western Route (TCR), which has the highest usage among China-Europe freight train routes, focusing on the current status of major international port services and usage cases in Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi'an, and other key locations. It will also explore suitable utilization methods for Korean companies through major domestic logistics firms operating locally.
Lee Ji-hyung, Head of KOTRA's Economic and Trade Cooperation Division, stated, "Through this webinar, we will provide Korean companies with the latest information on China-Europe freight trains and actively support them in establishing appropriate logistics measures."
