Recruitment of Participants for 'Small Business Hope Guide' in Seo-gu, Gwangju

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 5th that it is recruiting small business owners to participate in the ‘Small Business Hope Guide Support Project’.


The recruitment target is small business owners who have been operating a business in Seo-gu for more than six months as of the announcement date and have taken the mandatory ‘Hope Guide Class’ at least once. Applications will be accepted until the 4th of next month.

The ‘Hope Guide Class’ is a basic training course held 15 times at the Seo-gu Small Business Management Support Center from the 16th of this month to the 4th of next month, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 2:30 PM, and Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 PM, lasting for two hours each session.


After operating the Hope Guide Class and recruiting applicants for the support project, Seo-gu plans to review the necessity of store management improvements and provide up to 2 million KRW for facility improvements to 75 locations and up to 1 million KRW for promotion and marketing to 50 locations, supporting a total of 125 businesses.


Small business owners in Seo-gu who wish to receive education and support can refer to the Seo-gu District Office website and submit their applications in person at the Seo-gu Small Business Management Support Center.


Jung Sohyun, Director of the Economic Division, said, “This year, we made education completion mandatory as a qualification for applying for the project to strengthen the self-sustainability of small business owners,” adding, “We expect this project to enhance the competitiveness of small business owners and fundamentally increase their sales.”


Meanwhile, last year Seo-gu received applications from 598 businesses (434 for facility improvements, 164 for promotion and marketing) and selected 169 businesses (117 for facility improvements, 52 for promotion and marketing).
