Handonghun "Kim Junhyuk Has No End... Yong Hyein, Why Is She Saying Nothing?"

Kim Junhyuk Mentioned 'Restoration of Park Won-soon's Honor'
South Korea, "Are They Giving Power to the Secondary Victimization Group?"
"Yong Hye-in Says Difficult-to-Understand Words"

Han Dong-hoon, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, on the 5th stated, "Kim Jun-hyeok, the Democratic Party candidate for Suwon Jeong, Gyeonggi Province, said last year that he would restore the honor of the late Park Won-soon, former mayor of Seoul," and criticized, "What Kim Jun-hyeok says is endless like a cornucopia." He also reproached the fact that female candidates from the opposition coalition have not mentioned this issue.

At a campaign rally at Yangcheon District Court in Seoul that afternoon, Chairman Han said, "What kind of honor restoration is he talking about? Does he not consider the feelings of the victim of former Mayor Park's sexual crimes?" and asked, "Are we going to give power to a group that openly talks about secondary victimization?"

Following remarks about sexual bribery involving Ewha Womans University students and disparaging comments about comfort women, it was revealed that Kim, on the third anniversary of former Mayor Park's death in July last year, posted on his social media (SNS) a tribute to the late mayor, saying, "I will definitely restore the mayor's honor."

Chairman Han then criticized Yong Hye-in, co-chair of the Democratic United Front's joint standing election campaign committee, for not addressing Kim's offensive remarks, saying, "That is an admission that the words and thoughts in Kim Jun-hyeok's head represent the Democratic Party."

He added, "When asked why Democratic female candidates say nothing about Kim's misogynistic remarks, Yong said it was 'turning the arrow toward female candidates,' which is hard to understand," and said, "The ones really being targeted are all women and citizens of the Republic of Korea."

In a BBS Radio interview that morning, Yong responded to criticism that female lawmakers from the opposition coalition remain silent about Kim's offensive remarks by saying, "It is an attempt from outside the Democratic and progressive camps to direct arrows at female lawmakers," and added, "I hope the People Power Party does not so easily disparage the various visible and invisible efforts."
