Dong-gu, Daejeon announced on the 5th that it will hold a public contest for the 'Resident Participation Budget Dong District Meeting Support Project' worth a total of 800 million KRW to increase the diversity of policy participation.

The Dong District Meeting Support Project is a system where residents participate in the budget allocation process from project discovery to review and selection, proposing projects that are essential to their surroundings and neighbors.

From the 8th to May 20th, any resident, office worker, or student located in Dong-gu can download the application form from the Dong-gu Office website, fill it out, and submit it. Proposals can be submitted by mail or email, and applications can also be made by visiting the Dong-gu Office's Autonomous Administration Division or the Dong Administrative Welfare Center.

Submitted project proposals will go through eligibility review by the project department, resident voting, and deliberation by the Resident Participation Budget Committee, then be reflected in the budget plan and included in the 2025 main budget after approval by the council.

Park Hee-jo, head of Dong-gu Office, said, “The Dong District Meeting Support Project is a meaningful system where residents directly participate in all processes from discovering village issues to selecting solutions,” and added, “We hope for active participation from residents to discover innovative projects that residents can directly feel.”
