Rewarding the K-Defense Industry Legend... First Full Venue Rental Since Opening

An unprecedented ‘party’ took place where Lotte World was entirely taken over.

LIG Nex1 held a special event by renting the entire ‘Lotte World Adventure.’ Since its opening in 1989, this is the first time in 35 years that Lotte World has been rented out to a company for a whole day.

On the 5th, LIG Nex1, a leading domestic defense company, announced that it held the ‘2024 Family Day’ at Jamsil Lotte World, attended by about 10,000 employees and their families gathered from nationwide business sites including Pangyo, Yongin, Gumi, Gimcheon, and Daejeon.

Having promoted family-friendly management, LIG Nex1 has held ‘Family Day’ annually at the business site level as part of organizational revitalization events. Especially this year marks the 20th anniversary since LIG Nex1 separated as an independent corporation from LG Innotek in 2004. The company planned a company-wide event as a token of appreciation for employees and their families who are elevating the status of K-defense.

LIG Nex1 spared no effort in meticulous preparations so that all employees’ families participating in this Family Day could enjoy themselves comfortably and create precious memories.

On the main stage, various recreational activities and magic shows were held, and experiential programs such as calligraphy, face painting, and caricature drawing, as well as diverse game programs like darts and curling that the whole family could enjoy together, were operated.

Photo zones with various backgrounds were installed throughout Lotte World to offer memories while waiting for rides.

Additionally, various exhibition spaces were prepared so that attending families could recognize the status of Korea’s defense industry and enhance their understanding and pride in the company. These included the ‘48 Years of Defending the Nation’ history wall showcasing LIG Nex1’s history at a glance, as well as banners and video spaces explaining the company’s main products divided into six sectors that are researched, developed, and produced.

The ‘Stamp Tour’ event, where participating children received stamps at each booth and were given small souvenirs, was also popular among the kids.

On that day, Lim Hyung-wook, team leader of IPS Research Institute Team 5 and a father of four children who came up from Gumi to attend the event, said with a smile, “At first, I couldn’t believe that the entire Lotte World was rented out,” and added, “I made precious memories with my children that I will never forget.”

Park Hee-jae, a new employee who joined this year from Overseas Business Division 2, D Business Team, said, “I was surprised by the company’s bold decision to rent out the entire Lotte World,” and “I directly felt the company’s elevated status.”

At the welcoming speech, Shin Ik-hyun, CEO of LIG Nex1, said, “Although it is just a short day, I hope that moms, dads, sons, and daughters feel the pride that the company they go to work for is a global company leading K-defense and the pride of being a great company that prioritizes its employees.”

Gu Bon-sang, Chairman of LIG, said in his greeting, “The Family Day event is a moment to reward the hard work and dedication of LIG Nex1 employees and to promise the future together,” and added, “We will become a company that continuously pursues dreams beyond land, sea, sky, and even space.”
