2023 Jeonnam Fire Stations Comprehensive Evaluation: Hwasun and Gangjin Fire Stations Awarded Best

Hwasun Fire Station and Gangjin Fire Station were selected as the best in the 2023 comprehensive evaluation of fire stations in the Jeonnam region.

The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters announced on the 5th that it held the award ceremony for the 2023 comprehensive evaluation of fire stations.

The comprehensive evaluation of fire stations is conducted annually to encourage fair competition among fire stations, actively promote citizen-centered fire policies, and achieve the goal of protecting the safety of residents.

The evaluation items were selected and implemented across 6 areas, 33 indicators, and 62 detailed indicators, including fire administration, safety prevention, on-site response, and emergency medical management.

As a result of the evaluation, the best stations were Hwasun and Gangjin Fire Stations; the excellent stations were Suncheon and Jangseong Fire Stations; and the commendable stations were Mokpo, Gwangyang, Boseong, and Goheung Fire Stations. Awards included certificates from the Governor of Jeonnam Province and prize money totaling 11 million KRW, distributed differentially.

Based on this evaluation result, the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters plans to finalize the 2024 evaluation plan in April after collecting opinions from fire stations and holding meetings to improve evaluation indicators.

Hong Young-geun, the head of the headquarters, said, “I thank the employees who have sincerely done their best in their respective positions,” and added, “I hope everyone will continue to do their best to fulfill their given duties this year and become a reliable support for the residents.”
