Ha Im-sook, Head of Channel A Strategic Planning Division, Appointed President of Korean Women Journalists Association

The Korean Women Journalists Association held its 63rd anniversary ceremony and regular general meeting at the Korea Press Center the day before, appointing Ha Im-sook, Head of Strategic Planning at Channel A, as the 31st president. Her term is two years starting from the 5th.

Newly appointed President Ha graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in English Language and Literature and earned a master's degree in Technology Management from Stony Brook University, New York. She began her journalism career in 1995, serving as head of the Industry 2 Department and Industry 1 Department at Dong-A Ilbo's editorial office, and later as deputy head of the News Headquarters at Channel A.


In her inaugural speech, President Ha said, "I will support women journalists who challenge themselves with greater roles and work to increase the number of members gaining diverse experiences through the association's activities."


The new executive team includes △ Auditor Yoon Soo-hee, Head of KBS Viewer Center, and Ha Hyun-ok, Editorial Writer at JoongAng Ilbo △ Vice Presidents Park Young-jin, YTN International Department Reporter, and Shin Bo-young, Economic Department Head at Munhwa Ilbo.


Additionally, △ Planning Director Jung Ho-sun, Head of SBS Life Economy Department △ General Affairs Director Kang Yoo-hyun, Deputy Head of Industry 1 Department at Dong-A Ilbo △ Finance Director Lee Han-na, Head of Real Estate Department at Maeil Business Newspaper △ Publishing Director Song Hye-jin, Deputy Head of Industry Department at Chosun Ilbo △ Digital Director Kwon Hye-jin, Deputy Head of Industry Department at Yonhap News Agency △ International Cooperation Director Park Eun-kyung, Head of Foreign Affairs and Security Team at Kyunghyang Shinmun Political Department △ Balanced Development Director Choi Jin-joo, Deputy Head of International Department at Hankook Ilbo were appointed.


Founded in 1961, the Korean Women Journalists Association currently has over 1,700 women journalists from 33 media companies as members.
