Cheong Gong "Is the medical school '2000 student' increase because of my name? Ignorant people"

Fortune teller Cheon Gong (Lee Cheon Gong) directly refuted public suspicions that the government's policy to increase medical school admissions by 2,000 originated from his name.

On the 4th, Cheon Gong expressed his stance on various suspicions related to him that recently appeared on online communities in a video titled "The Yoon Seok-yeol Government and the Number 2000" uploaded on the 'Jeongbeop Sidae' YouTube channel.

In the video, the questioner claimed, "In pro-conservative online communities, the figure 2,000 for medical school admissions came from Lee Cheon Gong." They asked, "Please explain whether the Yoon Seok-yeol government really has a reason to be fixated on the number 2,000."

In response, Cheon Gong raised his voice, saying, "Who are these ignorant people who associate the 2,000 increase with Lee Cheon Gong? They are trying to prevent me from coaching at all and are trying to frame me with shamanism and fortune telling."

He continued, "They are trying to deceive the public by fitting me into the narrative that 'politics is conducted by listening to fortune tellers' just because Choi Soon-sil once benefited from some work. I lament how this country has come to such a state..."

When concerns were raised that "Cheon Gong's office is near the presidential office, which is worrisome," Cheon Gong expressed displeasure, saying, "I did not get an office after the presidential office moved to Yongsan; the office has been there for over 13 years. It is not my personal office. It is officially operated by Jeongbeop Sidae Co., Ltd. It is not right to disrupt business in that way."

He added, "What is so scary about me? I only teach people how to live rightly because they are struggling and lost. Now, 700,000 to 800,000 people are studying with hope and gaining strength. What is so objectionable about that? Even people like the president and the first lady have watched my lectures online and studied because they liked it so much. They are trying to drag me into this to slander such people," he criticized.

Cheon Gong also shared his opinion on the medical school expansion policy. He said, "The issue of doctors is not something the president should handle alone; experts should discuss it together. It was wrong for the president to take the lead directly." He added, "It seems the president took it up because it became too difficult, but couldn't it have been brought up after the election?"

"Taking out the hot potato at that moment caused the problem," he pointed out. Regarding the possibility of adjusting the scale of medical school expansion, he said, "To throw a curveball according to the '3 to 7' rule, you have to start at 30%. Since the government intended to increase admissions by 2,000, first (the medical community and others opposing) should secure 30%, then proceed sequentially with 30% increases," he explained.
