Jung Han-gyu, Director of the Advanced Mobility Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "Since related organizations from industries, educational institutions, research institutes, and the public sector all participate, we plan to gather diverse opinions from each field to create a hydrogen energy ecosystem," adding, "We will actively operate the council to make Gyeonggi Province the center of South Korea's hydrogen economy."

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province will publicly recruit cities and counties to participate in the eco-friendly hydrogen energy self-sufficient small city ‘Mini Hydrogen City Creation Project’ until April 30.

The Mini Hydrogen City Creation Project is part of the ‘Hydrogen Convergence Cluster Creation’ pledge of Gyeonggi Province’s 8th term administration. It supports infrastructure across all fields such as hydrogen production, distribution, and utilization, but allows local governments to autonomously plan and apply for projects reflecting their own characteristics.

Following the selection of Yongin as the first Mini Hydrogen City last year, Gyeonggi Province plans to select two additional cities or counties as ‘Mini Hydrogen Cities’ this year and provide 10 billion KRW in provincial funds over three years.
