Exclusive 30~85㎡ Housing Purchase

Gyeongbuk Development Corporation announced on the 3rd its plan to purchase 200 contract-type rental housing units to improve housing stability and welfare for vulnerable residential groups.

In February, following Gyeongbuk Province's declaration of a "war against low birth rates" in response to social issues such as low birth rates and regional extinction, the corporation set a goal to supply high-quality housing tailored to demand. To achieve this goal, the corporation investigated and analyzed the supply status of public rental housing across Gyeongbuk and established measures for community-based and child-rearing friendly housing supply.

Gyeongbuk Development Corporation announced the purchase of contract-type rental housing for 2024 to supply "community-based public rental housing." Community-based public rental housing is a project that supplies rental housing in population-declining areas with relatively low rental housing supply, in cooperation with local governments, to differentiate by region and institution.

Applications will be accepted until May 3rd, and the purchase target areas are Yeongju City, Yeongcheon City, Yeongdeok County, Cheongdo County, and Goryeong County. Depending on the purchase type (general, youth, newlywed), housing units with exclusive areas ranging from 30㎡ to 85㎡ will be purchased.

In particular, to supply child-rearing friendly housing, priority is given to purchasing housing that includes community spaces that can serve as regional hubs such as childcare facilities and youth startup facilities, plans for multi-family housing considering user satisfaction, and new construction after demolishing vacant houses in urban areas to address broader social issues.

Gyeongbuk Development Corporation began purchasing 150 units through the existing housing purchase rental project in 2022 and signed a contract to purchase 200 housing units in 2023 through the contract-type purchase rental project.

The contract-type purchase rental project involves the corporation participating directly from the design stage to improve housing quality and purchasing after a six-step quality inspection. The corporation has expanded its business areas by implementing shared housing projects (housing types that provide shared spaces such as coin laundries and storage rooms to residents) and collaborating with local governments to create regional vitality towns.

Lee Jae-hyuk, President of Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, expressed his commitment to expanding housing welfare projects, stating, “We will strive to ensure that residents of Gyeongsangbuk-do do not feel housing insecurity and can experience seamless housing welfare projects.”
