Boryeong City in Chungnam announced that it will establish a solar power aggregation complex with a capacity of approximately 202 MW in the land areas of Boryeong Lake and Hongseong Lake by 2026.
On the 29th, the city signed a business agreement with the Korea Rural Community Corporation regarding the public-led solar power aggregation complex project and established a collaborative system for joint development.
The city is seeking regional revitalization through the transition from coal-fired power generation to green energy, including the construction of the world's largest blue hydrogen plant, eco-friendly mobility, and hydrogen production facilities utilizing biogas.
Additionally, it is promoting an energy pension project linked to large-scale renewable energy projects such as solar power and offshore wind power.
Mayor Kim Dong-il stated, “We will build a closer collaborative system with the Korea Rural Community Corporation for the joint development of the solar power aggregation complex and realize a sustainable, resident co-prosperity type renewable energy-based energy pension.”
