On the 4th and 5th, two international cruise ships will consecutively dock at Yeosu Port in Jeollanam-do, bringing over 1,200 overseas tourists to Yeosu and opening the door to revitalizing Yeosu tourism for the new spring season.
The international cruise arriving in Yeosu on the 4th is the ‘Seabourn Sojourn’ from the world-renowned American cruise line Seabourn, a luxury cruise ship weighing 30,000 tons and measuring 198 meters in length, favored by cruise travelers worldwide.
In April of last year, as the Silver Whisper docked at Yeosu Port, the municipal Gugak orchestra 'Chwita Band' performed a welcome concert.

Carrying a total of 870 people, including 540 passengers and 330 crew members, it departed Taiwan on the 24th, stopping by Japan and Busan before staying in Yeosu for 9 hours and then returning to Japan.
Additionally, the ‘Le Jacques Cartier’ from the French cruise line Ponant, arriving on the 5th from Japan, is a small luxury cruise ship weighing 10,000 tons and measuring 132 meters in length.
It carries 308 people, including 184 passengers and 124 crew members, and will stay in Yeosu for 11 hours before returning to Fukuoka, Japan.
Accordingly, Yeosu City plans to provide active services so that cruise passengers can fully experience the charm of Yeosu during their short stay, including a welcome performance by the municipal Gugak orchestra ‘Chwita Band,’ free shuttle bus service to major tourist sites, and the deployment of cultural tourism guides and interpreters.
Furthermore, travel agencies that attract international cruises will receive support of up to 10 million KRW per chartered bus rental, and policy support will be strengthened to secure competitiveness as a port of call.
Shin Young-ja, head of the Tourism Division, said, “The arrival of these international cruises is expected to play a significant role not only in boosting Yeosu’s vitality during the peak tourist season but also in promoting the ‘2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo’ and enhancing Yeosu’s image as an international tourist city.”
Meanwhile, this year, Ponant’s cruise ship is scheduled to visit Yeosu Port once more in October, making a total of three international cruise arrivals planned, and negotiations with cruise lines are underway to attract an additional cruise ship in the second half of the year.
