The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 31st that it plans to utilize ideas developed through on-site visits to cultural elements as part of the ‘Sanridan-gil Project’ to improve the industrial complex environment. The ‘Sanridan-gil Project’ is a business initiative aimed at the fusion of industrial complexes and culture, promoting remodeling of closed or idle factories, construction of youth culture centers, creation of beautiful streets, and youth-friendly renewal of aging factories.
To this end, on the 29th, Lee Sang-hoon, Chairman of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, along with 12 employees, visited the ‘Starfield Library’ and the ‘2024 Smart Factory & Automation Industry Exhibition’ located at COEX in Samseong-dong. The visit to the Starfield Library was to observe cultural convenience facilities used by urban workers and to create synergy by linking cultural projects for industrial complex workers with beautiful street creation projects. Additionally, through the visit to the ‘Smart Factory & Automation Industry Exhibition,’ they reviewed future digital technologies and explored ways to introduce them into industrial complexes.

원본보기 아이콘On the 28th, Yoon Chang-bae, Head of Digital Innovation Headquarters at the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, along with 13 employees, visited the ‘1st Re-factory’ site in Gumi National Industrial Complex and the data platform usage site of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, a tenant company in Ulsan National Industrial Complex. The 1st Re-factory provides affordable rental spaces to startups, ventures, and small and medium enterprises after remodeling closed or idle factories, and offers worker convenience spaces such as coffee shops. At HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, they observed a platform that shares data with shipbuilding subcontractors to improve productivity.
Chairman Lee Sang-hoon stated, “We will strive to create an industrial complex that attracts youth through environmental improvements and active introduction of cultural elements, while enhancing the competitiveness of tenant companies through digital transformation.”
