Chairman Cho Yong-byeong Signs MOU to Strengthen Financial Cooperation with Polish Bank Association

Jo Yong-byeong, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks, who officially visited Poland, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Polish Bank Association to strengthen financial cooperation.


According to the Federation of Banks on the 25th, the MOU was signed with the purpose of promoting the development of the banking industries of both countries through building mutual friendly relations between Korea and Poland. The MOU includes cooperation in areas such as ▲holding seminars ▲exchanging information related to financial regulations ▲collaborating on education and training.


After signing the MOU, the two bank associations held a seminar titled "Joint Seminar on Digital Finance and the Current Status of the Economy and Banking Industry." Attending from Korea were Kim Ju-hyun, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, heads and deputy heads of member institutions of the Federation, and executives. From Poland, Tadeusz Białek, Chairman of the Polish Bank Association, and executives of member banks attended.


The Korean side presented on Korea's digital finance environment and digital banking status, while the Polish side presented on the current status of Poland's economy and banking industry. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on innovative changes and new challenges in digital finance such as blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data, and exchanged constructive opinions to elevate financial cooperation by reviewing the latest trends in the Polish banking industry.


Chairman Jo said, "Through the signing of this MOU and the joint seminar, we will further strengthen financial cooperation between Korea and Poland," adding, "The banking sector will support maximizing financial synergy between the two countries by expanding financial support for domestic companies entering Poland and exploring new opportunities for companies wishing to enter the market."
