President Yoon Suk-yeol has traveled a total of 4,970 km for the 22nd Minsheng Discussion Forum held since the beginning of this year. This distance is equivalent to making six round trips between Seoul and Busan (800 km).
On the 24th, the Presidential Office posted a card news titled "Minsheng Discussion Forum in Numbers" on its website, revealing that President Yoon met with 1,671 citizens through the 22 Minsheng Discussion Forums.
Notably, the Minsheng Discussion Forum with the highest attendance was the 17th forum themed "Korea Leaping Forward with the Power of Youth." At that time, 430 citizens participated.
The Presidential Office stated, "The shortest time from the Minsheng Discussion Forum to policy improvement was three hours." During the 10th forum, after hearing the story of a small business owner who was suspended from business due to a minor's intentional drinking and voluntary confession, President Yoon gave direct instructions on-site, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety took action within three hours after the forum ended.
Through the Minsheng Discussion Forums, a total of 359 government policy improvement tasks have been identified. Among these, 168 were direct proposals from citizens, and 191 were policy tasks announced by government ministries.
Additionally, the youngest participant in the Minsheng Discussion Forums was 13 years old, and the oldest was 88 years old. A Presidential Office official said, "Through the 22 forums held so far, President Yoon met and communicated with citizens of various age groups, from middle school students to the elderly, listening to their stories."
