Agriculture Minister Song Mi-ryeong: "Cooperation from Small and Medium-sized Marts is Essential for Government's Price Stabilization Measures"

Song Miryeong, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, visited Save Zone located in Nowon-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 24th to check the price trends of agricultural and livestock products as well as processed foods, and urged small and medium-sized marts to actively participate in price stabilization policies.


This visit was arranged to review whether discount support and other measures, which are part of the price stabilization measures announced at the livelihood economy inspection meeting held on the 18th, are functioning well on site, and to listen to the field opinions of small and medium-sized marts related to price stabilization and seek cooperation plans.

On that day, Minister Song emphasized, "The government plans to swiftly implement emergency price stabilization measures to reduce the burden on the shopping baskets of the people," adding, "For these efforts to be felt by the public, cooperation from the entire distribution industry, including small and medium-sized marts, is urgently needed."


Furthermore, he said, "The government will do its best to stabilize the price burden on the public's shopping baskets by expanding the reduction of delivery prices and discount support to small and medium-sized marts and online shopping malls," and urged the accompanying Save Zone officials, "Please carefully check whether various policies are being well applied on site and whether there are any additional policies needed."
