'Tera·Luna Incident' Kwon Do-hyung Released After Serving Sentence... Immigration Escort

Illegal Immigrant Status Leads to Future Procedures at Immigration Office

Kwon Do-hyung, a key figure in the 'Terra·Luna' incident, was released on the 23rd (local time) after serving his sentence at Spu? Prison located on the outskirts of Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.

According to local daily newspapers Vijesti and Pobjeda, Kwon was escorted to the immigration office after his release from Spu? Prison that morning. Armed police forces maintained strict security in front of the immigration office in preparation for any possible incidents.

Since Kwon entered Montenegro illegally, it is expected that he will undergo related procedures there as an illegal resident.

Earlier, the Podgorica High Court ordered the seizure of Kwon’s valid passport to prevent him from leaving the country after his release. The Supreme Court of Montenegro temporarily suspended Kwon’s deportation to Korea until a final decision is made following a legality review request from the Prosecutor General’s Office the day before.

On March 23 last year, Kwon was arrested at Podgorica International Airport while attempting to board a private plane to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), carrying a fake Costa Rica passport. He served four months in Spu? Prison for using a forged passport. Additionally, he was detained for eight months due to extradition procedures.
