The Ministry of Economy and Finance stated that Director Kim made these remarks while visiting the site of the Metropolitan Express Train (GTX-A) to check the preparation status for its opening. This site visit was arranged to confirm the readiness for the GTX-A opening and to review future investment directions for metropolitan transportation innovation.
Director Kim personally boarded the GTX train on the Suseo~Dongtan section, inspecting operational quality and safety, and emphasized that support for the remaining GTX-A sections as well as GTX-B and C lines will be provided without delay to resolve transportation disparities. He also explained plans to promptly advance mid- to long-term investments for the second phase of GTX, including extensions of GTX A, B, and C, and the establishment of new lines D, E, and F.
Meanwhile, Director Kim noted that the fare for the Suseo~Dongtan section is 4,450 won, which is burdensome for regular passengers, and ordered active promotion of the K-Pass, which will be implemented in May. Before the implementation of K-Pass, he requested the promotion of the Altteul Transportation Card to ensure uninterrupted support for fare reduction programs.
